Your data, in plain words

• Everything runs on your computer

  The app, the overlay and the built-in AI all run on your own computer. There's no BubbleFacts account and no BubbleFacts server.

• Your settings stay on your computer

  Your settings are saved in the app's folder on your computer. Your StreamerSongList sign-in (or token) and any API keys are encrypted using your system's keychain, the same secure storage your computer uses for its own passwords.

• StreamerSongList

  The app reads your request queue from StreamerSongList, using your sign-in (or your token, if you use one), so it knows which song you're playing. You sign in on StreamerSongList's own website, in your web browser, so BubbleFacts never sees your Twitch password.

• Wikipedia

  Song titles, and the artist or game name, are sent to Wikipedia to look up articles about the song.

• The AI

  With the built-in AI, the default, captions are written on your computer. The AI model is downloaded once, and after that nothing is sent anywhere to write captions.

  If you choose an online AI (Groq or Anthropic), the song title and the Wikipedia article text are sent to that service to write the captions. Their own privacy policies apply.

• Nothing is sent to the project

  No analytics, no tracking, no usage counts. The app does check GitHub for new versions when it starts, which is how it can tell you an update is out.

• Problem reports only happen when you click

  A report is only created when you click Report this fact or Report a problem. It opens in your browser as a GitHub issue, filled in with details like the song, the fact, the Wikipedia article, the app version, your system and recent log lines. Your token is removed.

  You read it and decide whether to send it. If you do, it's posted on GitHub publicly, under your own GitHub account, where anyone can see it. Edit out anything you don't want to share before you submit.

• This website

  This site has no cookies, analytics or trackers. To show the newest version and its download links, the download buttons ask GitHub's public API about the latest release. GitHub sees that request like any visit to GitHub. Nothing else is loaded from other companies. Like any website, the web host may keep basic server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
